The Mental Toughness Mindset: How To Stop Your Excuses and Improve Your Life With Self Discipline and Grit

by Cortez Ranieri

Some points I like as below:

  1. Caring too much about things that don’t benefit your life, and turning this “care-way-too much’’ attitude into your life’s philosophy only takes you down a rabbit hole of nothingness.
  2. The difference between a sheep and a wolf, in this case, is that you never reach your fullest potential by following the herd.
  3. Confidence is repetition and mastery. It’s tangible work you put into something. It’s the experience gained through effort. Professional athletes build confidence by consistently practicing their skills until their efforts speak for themselves, but the ego tells you that you’re already perfect, great, successful, and everything you need to be, and you don’t even have to work for it.
  4. What if you consciously choose to accept and cope with your feelings in healthier ways? Mentally tough people don’t waste their precious time with unhealthy coping mechanisms and distractions from the convenient digital world.
  5. Not every uncertainty can be turned into an opportunity, but you have healthier habits and feel emotionally prepared for the potential fallout. Now, you can look for the unknowns that hide opportunity
